Production Technology
Investment casting is an advanced casting technology that uses the Lost Wax Process to provide high dimensional accuracy and superior surface quality.
The production process consists of wax injection, wax-pattern assembly, formation of a multilayer ceramic shell, removal of the wax in an autoclave or furnace, firing the shell at high temperature and then pouring molten metal. After the ceramic shell is broken, cutting, shot blasting, heat treatment, CNC machining and quality-control operations are performed to prepare the parts for shipment.
This method allows complex geometries, thin-walled structures and precision tolerances to be produced as a single part. In most applications, it significantly reduces the need for welding and the amount of machining.
